Police kill man in cutlass, fire attack

POLICE have killed a man they said attacked them with a cutlass and a flambeau when they attempted to arrest him for attempted arson.

According to reports, North Eastern Division Task Force police responded to a report at Rambhaju Street, Aranjuez, around 10 am today, and found Rishi Rampaul, 31, attempting to set a house on fire.

Police tried to disarm the man who became violent and attacked them. One of the officers shot Rampaul once in the chest and took him to Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex, Mt Hope where he died.
