New ferry turns back to PoS after technical difficulties

The Jean de la Valette experienced technical difficulties after it left for its 4 pm sailing on Thursday afternoon.

One passenger, Sherice Taylor told Newsday the captain Karel Lemmik announced that the vessel was experiencing some technical difficulties and he was left with no other choice than to turn the vessel around.

She said passengers were still on board but very concerned.

The boat left the Port of Spain port at 4 pm and around 4:45 the announcement was made. The boat is now back at the Port of Spain port.

The incident came less than one day after the vessel made its maiden voyage to Tobago.
