The ten men who escaped from the Immigration Detention Centre in Aripo three days ago remained at large yesterday.

Police sources in the Northern Division said they were still searching even the bush in the area and near the Aripo river.

Two escapees were recaptured on Thursday.

According to reports, at about 5.30 pm on Wednesday, Northern Division police were told 12 men – 11 Venezuelan and one Grenadian – had been missing from their rooms.

Police responded with search parties in the area.

Earlier reports indicated that National Security Minister Stuart Young was touring a correctional facility in Santa Rosa, which is being outfitted as a second IDC.
