Barataria police are investigating a robbery in which two men were assaulted, shot and robbed yesterday.

Police said the men, 34 and 27, were in their Nissan B14 outside an Aranguez preschool at around 9.30 am when a stranger opened the left back door, got in and told them not to look back.

He announced a robbery and started choking the 34-year-old with his own seatbelt, before taking $100 and a Samsung cell phone.

He then told the men to drive to the Johnny King Road Area, where he shot the 27-year-old in the left leg before running away.

The men went to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex, where they were treated.
