Reminded of the Greenvale crises

THE EDITOR: When the rains arrived Monday morning, I remembered the people of Greenvale and the trauma they went through last year. I recalled looking at TV coverage of flood alleviation work being carried out in the area. I wondered what the annual cost of this exercise would be to the HDC.

Some questions need to be asked. Is it customary that the HDC would purchase properties not approved for housing by Town and Country? Who and where are the people responsible for this debacle? Were they ignorant of the water accumulation problem in the area?

Greenvale is a crisis that was created and needs investigation. Is the Government willing to undertake this?
