Carenage man threatened and pistol whipped

CARENAGE police are investigating the assault of a man in Big Yard, Carenage this morning.

Cleavon Roberts, 39, was at his home at around 10.30 am when he was confronted by two men who began threatening him. One of the men pulled out a gun and pistol whipped him on his forehead, before running away.

The man with the gun fired a shot in the air as he and the other one ran away. On hearing this, neighbours saw Roberts bleeding and thought he was shot. He was taken to the St James infirmary where he was treated and is warded.

Investigators said robbery was not believed to be the motive.
