Pleasing care at general hospital

THE EDITOR: There has been no shortage of complaints against the health system. However, sometimes I believe it is good to “give Jack his jacket.” I can only relate my personal experience at the Port of Spain General Hospital.

I went to the hospital on June 1 around 2 pm. I was screened, registered and waited to see the doctor.

I was directed through all these procedures by a pleasant nurse (in a cream uniform). Actually, all personnel on hand were very pleasant, from the nurse to the wards attendant who assisted me on the wheelchair, to the X-ray operator.

Even though my foot was not operating 100 per cent they readily assisted me. They kept me in the hospital to observe me after taking some medicine. It was worth it.

A warm note of thanks goes out to all on duty that day, including Dr Mapp, for their care.

Keep up the good work.

F LATILLERE, Port of Spain
