THE EDITOR: I had to lift my mouth from off the floor when I heard Finance Minister Colm Imbert’s arrogant, gendered, sexist, and misogynistic comments about the qualifications of current BPTT regional president Claire Fitzpatrick.

Now he is trying to back-pedal by issuing a rambling statement that he also has access to advice from specialists in the Finance Ministry.

Imbert really believes we are fools.

Robert Riley and Norman Christie were highly qualified and capable former regional presidents of BPTT. They were not engineers. I never heard Imbert speak disparagingly about their qualifications. Is it because they were males?

I would not like to be a female working in the Ministry of Finance.
