Mexico eliminate TT from Concacaf Beach Soccer

HOSTS MEXICO rallied from a 3-2 deficit to defeat TT 5-3 last evening in the quarter-final round of the Concacaf Beach Soccer Championship, at the Puerto Vallarta Stadium, Puerto Vallarta.

Abdiel Villa and Jose Vizcarra each scored twice for Mexico. Villa netted in the first and 30th minutes while Vizcarra scored in the 31st and 32nd.

Jose Hernandez was the other goal-getter for Mexico in the fifth.

Shallun Bobb notched a pair for TT, in the 12th and 24th, with Shane Hospedales (23rd) and Kevon Woodley (35th) contributed one apiece.

With the result, Mexico progressed to today's semi-final round where they will meet defending Concacaf champions Panama, who got past Guatemala 6-4 in their quarter-final match.

El Salvador, who beat the Bahamas 8-4 yesterday, will meet the United States in the other semi-final. The US whipped Guadeloupe 5-1 yesterday.

The semi-final winners will earn spots in today's final, as well as the 2019 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup in Paraguay.
