Richard Young of the Cloth is the creative director of Se’duction De La Mode and he promises it will be no ordinary fashion show.

“Fashion has a magnetic appeal which rallies folks together this show is about making betterment for humanity so I will make it into something that people want to attend. It will be fashion, beauty and art.

The club recognises that many people, though not Rotarians, contribute to making the community and country a better place. In this regard, it will be honouring Dr Carol La Chapelle (dance) and Edwin Crazy Ayoung (calypso) at the fundraiser.

Rotary has a motto of Service Above Self and the St Augustine West club has added a second motto, Service to Youth by promoting, encouraging and helping the youth through its Rotaract Club.

Soowan Bramble , first inductee into the Model Hall of Fame by the Modelling Association, wears a Shawn Griffith-Perez design.

In keeping with this motto of Service to Youth the club has chosen to highlight two young people at the fashion event. One is designer and model, 19-year-old Jade Wiltshire, a past student of the University of the West Indies who has been recently accepted into Washington University of Medicine in Barbados.

Wiltshire started modelling at 15 with the House of Jacqui. She also went on to do Red Runway and San Fernando Fashion Week. In 2018 JW Collection was born and showcased for the first time at ECO Fashion Week.

The other youth is Megan Merrick, reigning Miss Central Carnival Queen who is also a sixth form student at Holy Faith Convent, Couva. She is writing CAPE exams in sociology, business management, physical education and communication studies.Merrick has a strong desire to be a psychologist and to assist with social work for special needs children.

Her enthusiasm for fashion and modelling stems from her mother Marcia who is a former pageant winner and model.

Entertainment for Se’duction De La Mode will be supplied by Ruth Osman, Anastacia Richardson and Miguella Simon, with master of ceremonies duty going to Errol Fabien.
