200 players feature at Tennis Patrons tourney

THE Tennis Patrons Academy will hold the Primary Schools Tennis Tournament at the Trinidad Country Club in Maraval, today and tomorrow.

The tournament, which has been held for the past 25 years, will include 200 players from 14 primary schools with Tobago and Point Fortin schools participating.

Four different categories will be contested in the tournament. The Red Ball Tournament will feature Under-10 players from 2 pm, today. The orange ball and green dot categories will also comprise Under-10 players, but will feature more experienced players competing on full courts.

The hard ball category will involve students over ten competing in categories A, B and C. The orange, green dot and hard ball categories will be held tomorrow from 8.30 am to 1 pm.

Some of the top players lining up this year are Beckham Sylvester, Cameron Wong and Kale Dalla Costa of St Andrew's.

James Hadden, Jordane Dookie and Adam Wyatt will represent Dunross Prep School and sisters Inara and Abigail Chin Lee will aim to make the International School of Port of Spain proud.

Keyondre Duke, Messiah Permell, Jordell Chapman and B'jorn Hall are among the talented players from Tobago.

The sponsors for this year's tournament are Prosport and Blue Waters.
