Cops hunt escapees in Carapo, Maloney

Dozens of heavily armed police descended on parts of Carapo and Maloney this morning in search of the prison escapees Michael Findley and Olatungi Denbow.

They were among eight men who escaped from the Golden Grove Remand Yard in Arouca on Wednesday. Five were rapidly recaptured and another held on Thursday while walking out of El Carmen village, Las Lomas.

Police said the Northern Division Task Force began thorough searches throughout Carapo from around 10 am today.

They said another team was doing floor-by-floor searches of a housing development complex in Maloney in search of the men after they received information they were hiding there.

The police, aided by members of the K9 unit and the air support division, are still at the scene.
