THE EDITOR: It matters very little with respect to the easing of the traffic on Wrightson Road as to how many lanes are increased.
It is obvious (to me anyhow) that anytime you have traffic lights intersecting a major road artery there will be massive traffic hold-ups, with the resulting cost to the country almost incalculable.
There are solutions to this problem which the relevant ministry is not prepared to entertain for reasons best known to it.
Here are some suggestions: roundabouts, overpasses, underpasses, raised roadways. We can do better than this.
