THE EDITOR: Should all high-breed dogs be licensed? Yes, dogs such as boxer, bull terrier, Dobermann, German shepherd, pit bull and others three months and older should be licensed.

Dog owners are responsible for inoculation against rabies by the time the pups are four months. Allow me to suggest that proof of rabies vaccination should be presented at the time of licensing. But are there agencies that facilitate this process?

In conjunction, local dogcatchers are doing a great job in getting strays off the streets, but it should be at the owners’ expense if impounded by the regional corporations.

I also remind all dog owners that their animals must have a bath once or twice a week and must wear a collar with name or number just in case they flee their homes.
