THE Sport Company of TT (SporTT) assisted the National Association of Athletics Administrations (NAAA) with a cheque worth $372,250, before this country’s participation at the IAAF World Relays on the weekend.

At the presentation on May 2, NAAA general secretary Dexter Voisin expressed thanks for the contribution from Government and confirmed the team’s excitement to get back to competition and to winning ways.

TT did get back to winning ways as the quartet of Deon Lendore, Jereem Richards, Asa Guevara and Machel Cedenio stunned the audience at the IAAF World Relays in Yokohama, Japan with a dramatic finish to win gold.

TT were also represented at the World Relays by the women’s 4x100m team of Kamaria Durant, Michelle-Lee Ahye, Reyare Thomas and Semoy Hackett that achieved a season best in the heats in 43.67.

Unfortunately, the team did not advance to the finals.

SporTT congratulated all the athletes and officials on their efforts and looks forward to the rest of the athletics season in the lead-up to the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo.
