THE first edition of Royal We Edit Wednesdays came off at Kaiso Blues Cafe on Wrightson Road, Port of Spain, last week Wednesday. With the theme Vocally Proud the evening featured Stef Kalloo, Chanta Kerry John and Mya Scott doing a variety of reggae songs.

The evening also celebrated birthdays by Droopy, the master of ceremonies for the evening and Stechelle. DJs Captain Urquhart and Sour Diezel provided music before and after the live show.

Kalloo opened the show with Redemption Song followed by Press Play and One Draw. She encored with her 2019 song Caribbean Girl.

John was next and he performed several of his songs to the delight of the audience. He made way for Scott, a vocalist with great potential and she did not disappoint with her version of Redemption Song and Vice Versa. Scott had an interactive session with the audience doing chorus and more. If her Kaiso Blues performance was anything to go by patrons at the upcoming North Coast Jazz have a lot to look forward to from this brilliant singer.

John is also a singer with great potential, he showed his versatility as he came out of the reggae zone to do a special happy birthday for the two celebrants.

Royal We Edit Wednesdays come off on the first Wednesday of every month and features local talent, most of which perform the reggae genre.
