Griffith on maid raid report: It was rather vague

COMMISSIONER of Police Gary Griffith has asked for a second and more in-depth report on the police raid at the Palmiste home of Goomatie "Savi" Ragbir, maid of former attorney general Anand Ramlogan who is currently before the courts on corruption conspiracy charges.

Speaking on Wednesday on the raid, Griffith said he initially was unaware of the raid and asked for a report. On receiving this report, Griffith said, he found it to be inadequate and asked for a second one. "The first report was rather vague," the top cop said.

"They submitted it to me and it was rather vague. I need more information to verify what caused them to be able to go there (to the home) so I asked them to send something more comprehensive than that." Asked when he will receive the report, Griffith said he was unable to say.

Ragbir has said the raid was politically motivated as when she asked officers why they were raiding her home, one of them told her, "call Anand."
