A GRIEVING man demanded to see video footage of an incident at a liquor mart in St James in which his teenaged son was shot dead by the proprietor.

Let us see the footage of my son with a gun robbing the liquor mart, we need closure.

This was the cry of Quincy Williams, father of Luke Williams,14, a student from St Anthony’s College who was shot by the owner of a St James liquor mart.

Both Luke and Claude Salandy, a man in his thirties, were shot by the owner on April 29.

Speaking at his son’s funeral today at Janel Funeral Chapel Ltd, Lloyd Street, Sunshine Ave, San Juan, Williams said although his son followed the wrong crowd he was a talented young person.

“I would not encourage no body children to do wrong or foolishness. My son loved music and football. He was skilled at doing both. I am not blaming no one for his death. Not his mother, myself or the person he was with at the time, all I know is that I loved my son.

“He had a bright smile and a bright future. Sometimes following friends may cause these things to happen. Life is not easy although people will blame both mother and father, sometimes we talk to our children and pour out our hearts but when children reach up with their friends it is another story.”
