WPC set on fire by Coast Guard relative

POLICE Constable Kelly Ann Humphrey, 29, is in critical condition after a male relative, said to be a Coast Guard officer, doused her with a flammable substance and set her on fire.

She is warded at the High Dependency Unit of the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex in Mt Hope while the Coast Guard officer is in police custody, assisting officers investigating the matter.

According to reports, Humphrey had gotten into an altercation with the man about 4 am yesterday when in a fit of rage, he doused her with the flammable substance and set her on fire.
