Eid is June 5

EID-UL-FITR will be celebrated on June 5 this year.

Communications Minister Stuart Young told yesterday’s post Cabinet briefing at the Diplomatic Centre, St Ann’s, that Cabinet had earlier made the decision.

He said the date was calculated according to the Moon’s phase. Young said Muslim groups such as ASJA, Trinidad Muslim League and Muslims of TT were consulted and all unanimously agreed on that date.
