The United National Congress says while it does not have any details on the arrests of former attorney general Anand Ramlogan and Opposition senator Gerald Ramdeen, it does not condone wrongdoing of any kind.

In a press release hours after Ramlogan was held at the Piarco airport and Ramdeen surrendered himself to police, the party said it had noted the reports. The UNC said it was focused on working in the best interest of the people of TT.

"We have no doubt that this desperate and failing Rowley administration is searching for a way to distract the public's attention away from their record of failure over the last four years. The Rowley administration is characterised by incompetence, corruption, massive unemployment and runaway crime," the release said.

It added that the UNC remained resolute in its plans to focus on people-centred development to move TT forward.
