Toco pensioner beaten, left for dead by bandits

A Toco pensioner is in critical condition after he was beaten and left for dead at his home this morning.

Police said Matthew Lacario, 62, was found at his San Souci home at around 9 am by his sister, with both hands tied behind his back and bleeding from his head.

She took him to the Toco Health Centre and later to the Sangre Grande Hospital, where an X-Ray revealed he suffered from a fractured skull.

Members of the Sangre Grande CID were called in and are investigating.

Police are still looking for a motive for his assault.
