Fatima win another North Zone cricket title

FATIMA College won another North Secondary Schools cricket title with a narrow seven-run victory over rivals St Mary’s College in the Under-16 30-over final at the latter’s school ground in St Clair, on Thursday.

Nicholas Elliot led the way for the Fatima Under-16 A team cracking 54 to guide his school to 145/7 in 30 overs and Zachary Siewah was also among the runs hitting 25.

In reply, St Mary’s fought hard but fell short of the target getting to 138/6 in 20 overs. Aidan Samaroo took 2/6 in six overs for Fatima and Devin Downie was also among the wickets snatching 2/28 in six overs. Siewah did not only contribute with the bat taking 1/18 in six overs.

The Under-16 title meant Fatima completed the double after winning the Under-14 North crown earlier this year.
