HILLVIEW are now one win away from defending the PowerGen Secondary Schools Cricket Intercol T20 title after defeating Shiva Boys Hindu College by six wickets at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Tarouba, on Thursday night.

Shiva Boys were restricted to 108/9 in 20 overs with Gregory Nandlal hitting 32 and Rohan Singh scoring 26. However, no other batsman from Shiva Boys got into double figures. Anderson Mahase was the top bowler for Hillview grabbing 2/11 in three overs.

In reply, Hillview were reduced to 39/3 before former West Indies Under-19 batsman Kirstan Kallicharan came to the middle and steadied the innings. After the fourth wicket fell with the score on 73, Kallicharan and Mahase put on an unbroken 38 runs for the fifth wicket to guide Hillview to 111/4 in 18 overs.

Naparima College, losing finalist last year, played Presentation College, Chaguanas in the second semifinal at Brian Lara Cricket Academy last night. The finals will be contested at Brian Lara Academy on May 10, from 6 pm.
