ALMOST two decades after his action film Men of Gray appeared on local television screens, Trinidad-born Hollywood-based actor and producer G Anthony Joseph has returned home for a seminar for actors and producers this weekend.

Joseph has appeared in the US television series JAG and American Family, as well as the films Contract Killers and Backlash, both of which he also produced. On his IMDB profile Joseph boasts 15 acting credits and 12 producing credits.

He will be returning home to share his experience with aspiring actors and film producers on April 27 and 28 at the Trinidad Theatre Workshop (TTW). The two-day intensive course is hosted by PWTM Productions Ltd in conjunction with the TTPerforming Arts Network.

PWTM in a release said the workshop is ideal for people who are interested in learning how to successfully develop their skills, market themselves and permeate the wider world of the film and television industry. There will be a special emphasis on: film and television producing, funding projects, marketing, and creating an audience for content. Participants must be 18 or older and have intermediate to advanced training/experience in the areas of performing and/or producing.

Participants will be working with material from top American television shows and film projects. They will also be given the opportunity to read from the script of Joseph's upcoming production Men of Gray 3: Liberty in the Fires, which is currently in pre-production and casting. The original television film was released in 1990 and the 1996 sequel, Men of Gray 2: Flight of the Ibis, appeared in local cinemas.

In a statement to the TT Performing Arts Network, Joseph said, “I am extremely excited to be holding my first acting and producing seminar in TT and seeing the talent that will be shared in the room. I'm most looking forward to seeing actors and producers grow over the two days we share together, and walk away with the tools to take their careers to the next level.”

The seminar will be held at the TTW, 6 Newbold Street, St Clair, Port of Spain on April 27 from 10 am-2 pm, and April 28 from 10.30 am-2.30 pm.

It costs $300 and spaces are limited.

Part of the proceeds will be used to support a local actor, and some will be donated to the Wishing For Wings Foundation.
