TT won the Cricket West Indies Regional Under-15 50-over tournament, despite losing by seven wickets to Guyana in the final round in Antigua, yesterday.

The title was decided by the narrowest of margins – TT fast bowlers took one more wicket than their Guyanese counterparts. Both teams ended the tournament with four wins and one loss from five matches, but TT copped the title because of the fast bowling points. Each wicket taken by a fast bowler gets .1 of a point for their team.

TT got to 180/2 in 43 overs when rain ended the innings. Justin Jagessar ended on 73 not out off 113 deliveries, including six fours, and captain Andrew Rambaran struck an unbeaten 33.

Chasing a revised target of 204, Guyana got to the target in 30.2 overs with the loss of three wickets. Rampertab Ramnauth and Mavindra Dindyal were the top batsmen for Guyana, cracking 92 not out and 52 respectively.
