TT Under-15 cricketers stay perfect

THE national Under-15 cricket team made it four wins in a row when round four matches were contested in the Cricket West Indies Regional Under-15 50-over tournament in Antigua, yesterday.

Batting first, TT were dismissed for 231 in 47.5 overs with Kavir Boodoosingh top scoring with 59 and Romario King cracking 37. Boodoosingh faced 102 deliveries and hit six fours. Bowling for the Windward Islands, S Bascombe snatched 4/50 and K Gangadeen took 2/35.

In reply, D Joseph struck 68 and M Lambert scored an even 50 but Windwards fell short getting to 225/9 in 50 overs. Joshua Davis was the chief destroyer for TT taking 3/49 in ten overs, while TT fielded well getting two run outs.

In other matches, Jamaica got past Barbados by 46 runs and Guyana defeated Leeward Islands by 96 runs. The final round will be played tomorrow with TT playing Guyana. TT will win the title with a victory, but can also win the title ahead of Guyana if they lose and finish the tournament with more fast bowling points than Guyana.
