THE PRIME Minister says there is no room in TT for divisive language.

He made the comment in his Easter message yesterday. “We live in one of the most successful, multi-ethnic and multicultural societies in the world. We must guard this harmony zealously. There is no room in our country for divisive language and behaviour. We must never allow the seeds of discord to be planted here. Those who cultivate such evil, reap a veritable whirlwind of hate and damaging consequences. “It is our mutual respect for each other that will bind us together. We are one people, working together to build a stronger Trinidad and Tobago for the next generation,” Dr Rowley said. He said Christ laid down his very life for the salvation of all mankind and had to die so that through his resurrection we could all find new life.

“It is my hope that our earnest reflection on this precious gift will inspire and energise us to become more compassionate and keenly aware of how our actions impact our fellow citizens.” He expressed hope that during this sacred time citizens will extend a helping hand to those who are in need.

“Let us emulate Christ’s humility and truly demonstrate what it means to love our neighbour as we love ourselves.”

The Tourism Ministry in an Easter message said over the Easter weekend the ministry welcomes the anticipated influx of visitors to our nation’s beaches and various sites and attractions.

“Traditionally, around this time, Trinbagonians take the opportunity to interact with and rediscover the innate treasures of the islands. It is also a heightened time of activity for those with vested interests in remote communities, especially those offering camping, hiking and turtle watching tours and other unique forms of community-based tourism.

Tourism Minister Randall Mitchell said, while the ministry encourages all to come out and explore the beauty of our islands, “we implore that in so doing you adhere to the basic safety measures/guidelines at these locations.”
