INSURANCE companies partnered with an on-the-spot road traffic accident and support company on Wednesday, in an effort to further streamline the process drivers have to go through when they get into an accident.

ForenSys the service provider of accident forensics who established their operations in TT in 2017, signed an agreement with the insurers at an event held at the Hyatt Regency Trinidad. The service will provide an independent party that would go on location and document all the particulars of an accident, which would expedite the process of handling claims.

According to a release sent to the media, the companies which signed the agreement are Beacon Insurance Co Ltd, Furness Anchorage General Insurance Co Ltd, Guardian General Insurance Co Ltd, Maritime Insurance Co Ltd, Massy United Insurance Co Ltd, Presidential Insurance Co Ltd and Tatil. The release said the signing event was a watershed moment and marks a turning point in the history of motor accident registration and insurance claims processing.

“The result is that claims will be handled faster and more efficiently. On-site ForenSys experts also act as a comforting and level-headed presence, as those involved in unfortunate incidents can often be nervous and or temperamental,” the ForenSys release said.

“The process means that costs associated with processing will be reduced among other benefits. In fact, data collection will help with critical analysis of traffic accident statistics which can further result in actions to areas such as improved road safety and infrastructure in vulnerable zones.”

ForenSys added that the new system was also endorsed by the TTPS.
