As the search continues for missing friends Siewnarine Gyandass and Vinesh Marlo, who are feared drowned, fishermen are warning others to take care when going out to sea.

Today, a group of fishermen joined the families of the missing men.

They said it was heartbreaking to hear what had happened to the six friends and are willing to help search for those still missing. as they are familiar with the sea. On Sunday afternoon six friends went on a fishing lime off Carli Bay in the Gulf of Paria. Their boat overturned in strong currents and the men fell overboard. Two survived: Kumar Lalla, 49, and Glen "Dave" Prahalad, 32, swam ashore.

On Tuesday Chunilal Gyandass' and Ronald Narinesingh's bodies washed ashore.

The Coast Guard is also searching the area.

Standing on his pirogue, fisherman Mahesh Roopchansingh told Newsday in an interview, “We out here since morning and we are not going to give up. ”

He said such incidents should not recur and people must be careful when venturing out to sea.

“The sea is a dangerous place and the waters will take you if you are not careful.

"There were six men on one boat with two lifejackets. This should not have been the case.

"I have been a fisherman for 35 years. When you go out to the sea you must be prepared. And from judging what I am told these men were not prepared for that trip.”

He said the boat was not big enough to carry the six men.
