Warriors, Hyperion prevail at Interschools Dragon Boat

TRINITY ONE Ton Warriors and Hillview College (HVC) Hyperion were among the winners at the Excellent Stores-sponsored 11th annual Interschools Dragon Boat Regatta.

The Regatta took place on Saturday at the San Fernando Yacht Club.

Trinity One Ton Warriors won the Under-21 Open 200 event in a time of two minutes 12.8 seconds, and the Under-21 Mixed 200 race in one minute 13.3 seconds, ahead of PRES SF (Presentation San Fernando) Vikings who clocked one minute 15.9 seconds, and North Eastern College, who completed the race in one minute 18 seconds.

Like the Warriors team, Hyperion were victorious in a pair of races. Hyperion topped the field in the Under-21 Open 200 in one minute 5.3 seconds, with Queen’s Royal College second in 1:05.8 and Trinity One Ton Warriors third in 1:06.0.

And, in the Under-21 Open 500, Hyperion cruised to gold in three minutes 59 seconds, ahead of Maple Leaf Predators (four minutes 16.1 seconds) and Fatima (four minutes 20.9 seconds).
