DEVIN COOPER, 29, of Commissioner Street, Cocoyea Village, San Fernando and Princes Town, appeared yesterday in the San Fernando magistrates’ court charged with the January 8 robbery at South Park, San Fernando. Three other people have already appeared.

Yesterday, magistrate Jo-Ann Connor read charges to Cooper that he, with others, at Island Beer restaurant, robbed Jenefer Benedict, Dunavon Gordon, Amalia Rivers, Keith Wells and Kizzy Ann-Quashie of cash and cell phones. The charge was that he committed the robbery while armed with a gun. Prosecutor PC Cleyon Seedan said the police had not recommended summary trial and as a result, hearing of the charges will be pursued indictably.

Seedan said Cooper gave his address as Commissioner Street, but it was discovered that his regular address is in Princes Town.

The magistrate granted Cooper $100,000 bail with a surety to reappear on May 6. PC Ramdass of the San Fernando CID laid the charge.
