JSC discusses teenage pregnancy

THE Committee on Social Services and Public Administration will hold a public inquiry into the prevalence of teenage pregnancy, the state's capacity to minimise its occurrence and provide assistance to teenage parents. The committee meets from 10.15 am on Wednesday at Tower D of the Port of Spain International Waterfront Centre. Independent Senator Paul Richards is the chairman of that committee.

The Local Authorities, Service Commissions and Statutory Authorities Committee meets at Tower D from 10.15 am on April 24 to hold a public inquiry into financial oversight and financial management at municipal corporations. This committee is chaired by Independent Senator Dr Varma Deyalsingh. On the same day, the Committee on Public Administration and Appropriations holds a public inquiry at the same venue from 2.30 pm on the recommendations in the 12th report on the Administration of Disaster Relief in TT.

The Senate sat on Monday to debate the Civil Asset Recovery and Management and Unexplained Wealth Bill 2019.
