Respect our culture on ferries

THE EDITOR: Are we really serious about tourism as a means of generating foreign exchange? I am highlighting tourism in Tobago and its inter-island ferry service, specifically the type of movies shown on the screens of The TT Spirit and The Galleon Passage.

TT is known to have an abundance of culture –be it steelpan, kaiso, limbo and many local TV shows – yet, still, we are bombarded on our ferry service with movies that send the majority of passengers to sleep. It's been just one month since a hectic Carnival 2019 season with great soca videos and shows, the tantalising music of Panorama 2019, and chutney soca. The management of the the ferry service should stop starving its passengers of T&T culture. Love and respect your own.
