Venezuela will be worse under‘US’ president

THE EDITOR: Poor Arnold Gopeesingh. The goodly gentleman is prepared to sell our soul to the US for a mess of pottage.

He advocates we must be “friends” with the US for fear of losing trade with them. Gopeesingh does not seem to understand that if the US trades with us, it is not because they like us, it’s because it’s beneficial to them.

He says “the US is trying to change the leadership in Venezuela and that is positive.” I know Gopeesingh tries to see things in the best light, but he must tell us how many countries have seen positive change from a forced change of government by the immoral US.

I highly recommend that he reads Raffique Shah’s column “None so blind” to get an understanding of what happens to countries where governments have been “installed” by the US. If Gopeesingh thinks Venezuela is bad now, wait until it gets a “US” president.
