A step in right direction by Lawrence

THE EDITOR: I congratulate national football coach Dennis “Tallest” Lawrence for making the bold step in having former national player and commentator Alvin Corneal lecture his charges.

I always knew Lawrence was a smart guy and realises he can’t take TT football on his shoulders alone, like Atlas. There must be some benefit in Corneal talking to the players, especially about the “glory years” of TT football – the 60s and 70s.

If I were Lawrence I would extend invitations to other standout players like Everard “Gally” Cummings (tactics), Selris “Sellers” Figaro (defensive work), and Ian Clauzel (dribbling). These men are all masters.

Opening up the team to other viewpoints and ideas could only benefit the players and TT football.
