SOCA artiste Iwer George was not at Machel Monday last night but he promised to be there next year. The soca artiste in a post on his Facebook page yesterday called “love in the house” said at a “heated meeting” at Ronnie and Caro’s Mas Camp “differences were sorted” between Machel Montano and himself.

The statement also said “We are now collectively starting on a clean slate and putting past issues behind us.” There was a feud between Montano and Iwer which resulted in them creating “diss tracks” such as Montano’s Dr Mashup.

In the post, George credited Ronnie McIntosh as the mediator between himself, Montano and Anthony “Chinese Laundry” Chow Lin On.

McIntosh in a phone interview with Newsday said the three met on Saturday at his business place. “Iwer was passing he was heading east. He was passing and I flagged him down and said ‘come and spend some of your big money'.”

McIntosh said he and Iwer have a lot of history and they were reminiscing about back in the day when they saw “the black Range Rover.”

He said Machel and Chinese Laundry were in the car and they began chatting there. He said “we began chatting about the little extempo songs that they had which we all felt was good for the excitement for the Carnival.

“We also talked about the fact that we can’t let the fans and them get carried away because they fans take it more personal than the artistes,” McIntosh said.

It was agreed then for Iwer to make the effort to show up at Machel Monday but Iwer never really committed. He said at the time of the meeting Iwer issued a press release requesting an apology and he was in the middle and encouraged all parties to “give an apology and settle it.”

"My concern was we cannot treat soca music like how we have Tupac and Biggie and east coast versus west coast and Movado versus Kartel and all of that,” McIntosh said.
