Let’s protect the vulnerable

THE EDITOR: What we are seeing taking place in our society today is not uncommon elsewhere – the preying on the most vulnerable. The case of the 19 young women being used as “sex slaves” right here in TT is a typical example.

Slavery is not over for millions of people around the world. It may have taken a different form but it is alive and well.

Let us wake up and smell the coffee. Sweet TT is now a place where the criminals that enslave others for monetary gain are also part of our society. It is big business.

Not only is this a crime but as far as I am concerned the exploitation of another human being is demonic, ungodly and wicked.

I am appealing to all, let us be the voice for those who cannot speak out for themselves. It is said that evil prevails when good men and women do nothing.

As citizens and as a nation we are the defence for the weak who are being preyed upon. Let’s say no to the preying on the most vulnerable in society.
