No Carnival for Muslims

THE EDITOR: Soon Carnival will be celebrated and once again I must remind my Muslim brothers and sisters not to participate. Being a Muslim you are already blessed and beautiful, there’s no need for vanity.

You are aware that immorality and vulgarity have now become the norm, now that terms like God and kingdom have entered Carnival and it is state-promoted.

Muslims should distance themselves even further.

Our religion means peace and a peaceful mind is a great achievement. During the lifetime of the prophet, Muslims never attacked anyone. They defended themselves against attackers but there will always be those who misunderstood Islam.

Our Holy Koran says “seek knowledge from the cradle to the grave,” so if possible have your children attend Muslim schools on Carnival days. The Koran also says those who believe and do good deeds will have everlasting life.

Peace and blessings be upon all Muslims.
