Merge large,medium bands

THE EDITOR: For years I have been among the pannists advocating the dismantling of the medium bands category in the Panorama competition.

Bands in this category are playing just as good as the large conventional bands. Some say even better. The merging of the medium and large bands will make for a keener competition. Big bands will have to bring their A game and medium bands, like Pan Elders that keeps rooted and winning in the medium bands category (five times), will now have to show their mettle.

Bands “hiding” in the medium category will be exposed. Pan Trinbago’s newly minted executive must initiate changes that would improve the Panorama competition.
