Farmer freed of 2017 murder

A SANTA Cruz man was acquitted today of the murder of another villager by Chief Magistrate Maria Busby Earle-Caddle.

Izer Scott, also known as Isaac, Isiah and Cat, was discharged after Earle-Caddle upheld the no-case submission of defence attorney Brent Winter.

Scott, 42, a farmer of Blackford Street, Cantaro Village, was charged with the murder of Kamau John Aubry, which occurred on April 17, 2017.

He was also charged with possession of a firearm and ammunition, for which he was also discharged by the chief magistrate.

Aubry, 43, of Torrence Drive, Cantaro Village, Santa Cruz, was found shot dead in his van on Akal Trace, Santa Cruz.
