Arouca man shot during work break

Dillon “Mini-Me” Logan, a father of three who was shot dead in Arouca on Monday, died without even giving his youngest daughter a christening.

The newborn baby girl was expected to be christened in May, but her father will not be there to see it. He was shot several times near his house.

Logan was on a break from working with a CEPEP gang on Manoram Road when an unknown gunman, described by witnesses as a Venezuelan, approached and shot him several times.

“He tried to run but he picked up two shots and fell,” said a relative. “The gunman came up to him and emptied the clip on the man.”

Relatives told Newsday they had the task of telling his three children their father was dead. The three were too young to understand what had happened to him.

Logan was described as a friendly, and peaceful person. Because of his friendly and peace-loving nature, relatives were even more confused when they heard of Logan’s death.

One of his six brothers, Trent, said, “He always told me that I had to enjoy life.

"He told me he was going to work and when he came back we would lime. I told him that I was home so he could pass through.

"The next thing I know, one of my younger brothers called me and told me what happened. I went to the scene, and I saw my brother dead on the ground.

"I have no idea why anyone would do that to him,”

An autopsy confirmed Logan died from multiple gunshot wounds.

The murder toll for the year stands at 40.
