UNC convenes national assembly tomorrow

THE Opposition United National Congress is scheduled to hold its national assembly at the Couva South Recreational Hall, Camden Road, Couva tomorrow, starting at 2pm.

The assembly is being held under the theme “Come together and let’s get T&T working Again.” Chairman Peter Kanhai said the assembly is the party’s “highest body” where the various arms report on their various activities over the past year.

He said political leader Kamla Persad-Bissessar is expected to deliver the feature address.

In her New Year’s message, Persad-Bissessar said with local government elections expected to take place in 2019, she would announce the opening for nominations for those elections at the assembly.

“Our plan is based on getting our nation working again.”
