COMMUNICATIONS Minister Stuart Young yesterday said the Prime Minister understands the people of Palo Seco and environs were upset he could not interact with them on Thursday, but Dr Rowley could hold another conversation with them.

Speaking to Newsday after the opening of a community library in Mt Hope, Young said, "I am certain that the Prime Minister will look at it in his schedule as to when he could go back."

Rowley's inability to attend a Conversation with the Prime Minister event in Palo Seco upset some people who came to the forum. Young acknowledged that people were disappointed that Rowley was unable to attend. "Everybody wants to meet with the Prime Minister and treat with the Prime Minister."

But Young added, "In the present circumstances, it's understandable."

After Thursday's weekly Cabinet meeting, there was a notification of an emergency meeting with Caricom called to discuss developments in Venezuela. Rowley holds the national security portfolio in Caricom's quasi-cabinet and missed the Palo Seco forum as a result of that meeting.
