Shootout at gyro stand after robbery

A bandit made a narrow escape after he was fired at by his victim in Charlieville last night.

Police said the man,41, of Valsayn was buying a gyro at the Southern Main Road, Charlieville, last night when he was approached by a gunman who robbed him of his gold chain, the keys to his Nissan Navara and his Samsung S8 phone.

The customer, who had his licenced gun on him, fired at the bandit who returned fire.

Neither were wounded and the bandit escaped with the items.
