Man, 28, killed in Cocorite, LAPD on scene

Police are at the scene of a drive-by shooting in Waterhole, Cocorite which happened this morning. The victim has been identified as 28-year-old Kaiz James.

At about 11 this morning, James and another man were standing on the side of the street when a car approached and several shots were fired at the men. James died at the scene but the other man was taken to the St James infirmary where is he being treated.

Western division police and the Homicide Bureau of Investigation went to the location along with two consultants from the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD).

Investigations are continuing.
