Father, son killed in Debe crash

A 60-YEAR-OLD Penal man and his 30-year-old son were killed when the car they were in struck a light pole near the UWI campus site in Debe. The victims have been identified as Prem and Ryan Singh.

A third man, 24-year-old Navindra Latchan of Penal, was taken to San Fernando General Hospital where he is warded in critical condition.

At about 9.30 pm on Wednesday, Ryan was driving his silver Mitsubishi Lancer along the Solomon Hochoy Highway when he lost control and struck a light pole. Eyewitnesses pulled the two from the wreck while the lone survivor was taken to hospital.

Relatives of the Singhs of Suchit Trace, Penal went to the scene. The two deaths pushed the road fatality to five for the year.
