Two arrested during camouflage kit sale in Arima

Two men were arrested on Monday night during the attempted sale of a camouflage kit in Wallerfield, Arima.

Police said at around 9 pm, members of the Arima CID visited a home at Antigua Road, Wallerfield, where they executed a search warrant for stolen items.

Police said they found several camouflage kits, a Glock pistol and a quantity of ammunition that was reported stolen from the home of a soldier three days earlier.

Police also found a variety of appliances, electronics and power tools with an estimated value of $200,000.

The 23-year-old man who was in the house at the time was arrested.

Police said they visited the house just as the suspect was trying to sell one of the camouflage kits as they met another man at the house trying on a camouflage jacket.

The would-be customer, a 36-year-old man from Valencia, was also arrested.

Police said they believed the 23-year-old was responsible for a string of thefts in Wallerfield.
