Health worker raped at home

A 27-year-old health worker was sexually assaulted on Saturday night by a man she invited into her San Fernando apartment to lime.

She reported the rape on Sunday and San Fernando police searched for the suspect, who is believed to have gone into hiding.

Around 8.30 pm on Saturday the victim was at her apartment and invited over a man who she knew only by his last name. He arrived five minutes later in a silver car and they sat on a mattress in the living room and played a card game.

But during the game, the man overpowered the woman and sexually assaulted her, then drove off.

The woman reported the attack on Sunday and was examined by a district medical officer.
