Jamaican arrested for maxi robbery

A 21-year-old Jamaican man is in police custody after he and others allegedly robbed a maxi taxi driver in Laventille yesterday afternoon.

Police said at around 1 pm, members of the Inter Agency Task Force (IATF) were on mobile patrol along the Priority Bus Route near the Joint Community Services Centre in Laventille when they saw three men running through a track along the road. They also saw a man driving a maxi taxi who told the officers the men robbed him.

Officers chased the men and arrested one. He was taken to the Besson Street Police Station for questioning.
